Contempo Property Holdings Inc. (CPHI) CEO Beverly Dayanan highlighted the value of public-private partnership in building healthy communities as the “Pasilong Para sa Paradise” program had partially turned over part of the 700 to 1,200 units to be constructed for the beneficiaries in Barangay Guizo last March 18, 2023.

Pasilong Para sa Paradise Turned Over 700 Units to Beneficiaries

Pasilong Para sa Paradise is the temporary housing project set for fire victims of Sitio Paradise, Barangay Looc, Mandaue City who have been staying at the evacuation center after losing their homes on November 22, 2022. Up to 700 temporary units are expected to rise at Barangay Guizo.

“So many challenges… and now we are here for our valued recipients,” Dayanan shared in Cebuano during the ceremonial turnover. “As one who is into mass housing development projected to last fifty years or more, it is my first time building a three-year temporary shelter on borrowed land.”

Currently serving as Mandaue City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Temporary Shelter Project, Dayanan recalled the private sector emergency meeting in which she was assigned the project chair.

Through Dayanan’s project leadership, MCCCI partnered with the Mandaue City Government, LH Foundation, Inc., Chong Hua Hospital, Cebu Mandaue Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Inc., VIC Enterprises, and Worldwide Steel Group Inc.

“We have accomplished much through our donors. The shelter may only be temporary for beneficiaries to stay in, but many of them have already been listed among the housing projects in Cebu,” Dayanan said, highlighting that contributions do not have to be grand in order to be meaningful. All donated raw materials received through the project have been put together for the construction of units.
