Contempo Property Holdings, Inc. achieved a remarkable feat with its entry “Winds of Change: The First Miracle,” winning first prize in the Sinulog 2015 Float Competition held on January 18, 2015, during the Sinulog Grand Parade.
For the second consecutive year, Contempo Property Holdings Inc., with its flagship project Bamboo Bay Community, emerged victorious in the Sinulog float competition.

The winning float depicted the historic encounter between two cultures, featuring the Spanish expedition led by Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan and his soldiers, accompanied by the interpreter Enrique de Malacca and a Spanish friar. They arrived in Cebu bearing the image of Sto. Niño. On the island were the native inhabitants led by Rajah Humabon and Hara Humamay, portrayed by Contempo’s CEO, Beverly Dayanan. Inside a nipa hut, warriors, slaves, and “babaylans” performed a religious ritual, reflecting the natives’ belief in divine spirits dwelling in nature. Hara Humamay was captivated by the image and requested it as her baptismal gift. Rajah Humabon and his followers agreed to be baptized as Christians, and to this day, the Cebuanos remain devout devotees of the Sto. Niño.
The winning entry was conceived, designed, and directed by Contempo’s marketing consultant, Tetta Baad, with support from PeeWee Senining for costume and makeup, Niño Matillano for choreography and music, Lilu Aliño, advertising and PR consultant, and Jojie Tajanlangit, Contempo administration manager.
Bamboo Bay Community invites balikbayans and guests to an open house on January 31 and February 6, featuring the award-winning float for souvenir photo opportunities.
